INTRODUCTION ABOUT AZUKON M TABLET

AZUKON M TABLET is used in the management of diabetes mellitus when dietary measures, physical exercise, and weight loss alone are not sufficient to control blood glucose. It is a combination of Gliclazide and Metformin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetic agents.

AZUKON M TABLET is not recommended for use if you have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, kidney disease, or liver failure. The use of AZUKON M TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. It is not known whether the medicine or its metabolites are excreted in breast milk. Hence consult your doctor before taking the medicine. AZUKON M TABLET is not recommended for use in children as safety and effectiveness have not been established.  

The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, gastric pain, constipation, vomiting, metallic taste in the mouth, rash, pruritus, urticaria, erythema, and flushing. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.


USES OF AZUKON M TABLET


HOW AZUKON M TABLET WORKS

AZUKON M TABLET effectively controls blood glucose levels, where Gliclazide works by increasing the amount of insulin by stimulating the pancreas and helps to control blood glucose levels. Metformin works by decreasing the production of glucose in the liver, decreasing the intestinal absorption of glucose, increasing insulin sensitivity, and allowing better glucose uptake and utilization by the body.


DIRECTIONS FOR USE

  • Take AZUKON M TABLET, preferably just before meals, during meals, or as advised by your physician
  • Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine
  • Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending on your age, body weight, and disease condition

  • have type 1 diabetes mellitus
  • have severe ketosis and acidosis
  • planned for surgery
  • have severe trauma
  • have severe infections

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally took more of AZUKON M TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Overdosage may cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), and symptoms include dizziness, lightheadedness, hunger, nervousness, shaky feelings, drowsiness, confusion, perspiration, and palpitations.
