INTRODUCTION ABOUT AZIFAST 500MG TABLET
AZIFAST 500MG TABLET is used to manage mild to moderately susceptible infections caused by bacteria and other microorganisms, which include chest, throat, and nasal infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sore throat, and sinusitis. It is also used to manage ear infections and skin and soft tissue infections (such as an abscess or boil) in affected individuals.
It contains a medicine called azithromycin, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics that works by preventing the growth of bacteria and helps clear up the infection.
AZIFAST 500MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Azithromycin, other antibiotics such as erythromycin/clarithromycin (macrolides), and ketolides. It is also not recommended for use in patients with a history of cholestatic jaundice/hepatic dysfunction.
Before taking AZIFAST 500MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, myasthenia gravis (a condition marked by weak muscles), heart problems, and/or kidney problems.
AZIFAST 500MG TABLET should be used with caution during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy only if it is clearly necessary. It is also advised to be used with caution in breast-feeding women, as it is unknown whether the medicine gets excreted in the breast milk.
AZIFAST 500MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children weighing less than 45 kg. It is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of taking AZIFAST 500MG TABLET are stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, dizziness, headache, and/or skin rash. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
- Take this medicine as advised by your physician.
- For Tablet, Capsule: Swallow AZIFAST 500MG TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
- For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse AZIFAST 500MG TABLET in the specified quantity of water as mentioned in the label. Consume the mixture immediately after reconstitution.
- Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

HEART DISEASE

USE IN PEDIATRICS
